In theme with the 2025 Met Gala
At the Fashion Innovation Centre, we’re proud to say we’ve been in theme with this year’s Met Gala 2025, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” since 2021.
This spring’s Costume Institute exhibition highlights the depth, craftsmanship, and cultural influence of Black tailoring—from historical silhouettes to iconic Zoot suits.
One of our 'Basics in CLO 3D' students Igor Shapiro created a striking Zoot suit in 2021 - for our inaugural VR Fashion Museum. A bold digital garment that speaks to the same legacy of style, resistance, and cultural identity being honoured at the Met.
Virtual fashion has the power to preserve and amplify stories that matter.
Special thanks to Elia Youssef for the 2021 VR Fashion Museum.
Thanks to Ian Lochhead, PhD for our current 2025 FIC VR Fashion Museum
